WAILELE A NUI NUI O MO'OULA

This is one of those few and rare sacred places that I have found in my life. For the better part of 5years I would make the journey up to this waterfall every single day. It was part of my training when I began to learn the Ancient Wisdom of my Hawaiian Ancestry. On the surface of what I was doing those five years was being a tour guide for the Halawa Falls and Cultural Hike. It wasn't until years later after my departure from the Valley of Halawa that I realised that every moment I had making that journey to the Waterfall of Mo'oula was a moment that I got to Listen again to The Voice of My Ancestors. Precious moments of remembering their touch, taste, smell. To see, feel and hear them again. Even now while writing these words, tears of joy and happiness dance across my cheeks full of the gratitude for the ever present songs they would whisper in my ears under the roar of life that cascades down the reptilian scales of Mo'oula's back. This Majestic Waterfall which resides at the apex of the renowned valley of Halawa, Molokai.
